Maryland EXCELS 2.0 — Designed with you in mind!

2/11/2019

The Maryland EXCELS System was offline for maintenance for a short period of time on January 16, 2019. Thank you for your patience and support as we work to resolve any and all issues.

As of January 17, 2019, the System was back online and operations were resumed. We ask that you continue to report any issues to www.marylandexcels.org/SystemQuestions.

Our first priority is ensuring that programs are able to focus on providing care for the children and families they serve. While we understand that there have been some challenges with the system, we continue to work to make the System easy and intuitive for you to use.

12/14/2018:

Thank you for your patience throughout the Maryland EXCELS 2.0 transition. For those of you who have logged into the System, you may have experienced some challenges. We appreciate you taking time to collaborate with your Quality Assurance Specialist or Program Coordinator to obtain the help you need.

We are working to make Maryland EXCELS 2.0 easy and intuitive to use, and ask that you   report any issues or questions here.

Your top concerns addressed:

  • Quality Rating: Your previously published quality rating has not been impacted by Maryland EXCELS 2.0.
  • Request to publish: Your program still has the ability to request to publish a quality rating in Maryland EXCELS 2.0.
  • Child Care Subsidy payments: The Maryland State Department of Education is working to ensure Child Care Subsidy payments are not interrupted. However, if we identify a disruption, we will ensure payment is made for the time period your program was eligible.
  • EXCELS Subsidy payments for quality ratings 3, 4 and 5: The Maryland State Department of Education is working to ensure EXCELS payments are not interrupted. However, if we identify a disruption, we will ensure payment is made for the time period your program was eligible.
  • Bonus payments: If you publish a first-time quality rating 1 through 5, or republish a quality rating 5, from October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2019, you will receive a bonus payment.
  • Expired programs: If you are not able to access your account in the System, contact the Help Desk or your Program Coordinator.

The Maryland EXCELS team is busy behind the scenes correcting any and all system issues.  Please visit this System page whenever you have questions or concerns.
